Police declare two men wanted after escape from custody in Lagos

The Nigeria Police Force has declared Mr. Omosanya Saheed Abolade (Date of Birth: 01/04/1978, NIN: 42712826896) and Mr. Ametze Friday Sunday (Date of Birth: 07/06/1979, NIN: 56349695803) wanted following their recent escape from police custody in Lagos.

The incident occurred while the suspects were being escorted to court, raising security concerns in the local community.

The two men were initially apprehended on February 24, 2025, on charges related to alleged (gay) activities at a residence at Road D Maya Olorijo Estates off Itokin Road, Ikorodu North, Lagos. They were due for a court appearance the following day. However, their escape prompted the case’s adjournment to April 15, 2025.

In a public appeal, the police have urged anyone with information on the suspects’ whereabouts to report to the nearest station. The families of the suspects have been notified of the ongoing search as authorities continue efforts to restore public safety
