Police arrest three over killing of 38-year-old in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the killing of one Umar Abdullahi in the capital, Yola.

The 38-year-old Umar was killed last week near his place of residence in Ajiya Street, a community in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.

Umar met his end in the hands of a gang of youths who went for his phone, but because he resisted the youths, the youths stabbed him repeatedly, leading to his death.

The state police command, in a brief statement passed to newsmen Wednesday afternoon, said three persons had been arrested in connection with the incident.

The statement, signed by police image maker Suleiman Nguroje, gave the names of the suspects as Ismail Isah, 21 years old; Umar Usman Sola, 17 years old; and Suleiman Muhammed, 16 years old.

The police added that the three, who are of different addresses, were arrested “following the attack and killing of the said Umar Abdullahi.”
