Osun employs 241 additional Teachers

The Osun State Government has expanded its ongoing 2026 teachers' recruitment exercise, announcing the employment of an additional 241 teachers to supplement the first batch of hires.
This recent approval by Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke brings the total number of newly recruited educators to 1,241, surpassing the initial target of 1,000.
According to a press statement released on Sunday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, M. A. K. Jimoh, the supplementary list was approved to absorb more qualified, unemployed youths into the state's teaching workforce.
The expanded recruitment aims to significantly improve learning outcomes across both primary and secondary schools in Osun State. With these new additions, the final breakdown of the 1,241 employed candidates now stands at 660 teachers allocated to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), 526 assigned to the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), and 55 designated as Education Officers.
The Ministry has advised all successful candidates to promptly check the officially released lists for their names.
Following confirmation, the newly recruited educators are required to commence the necessary profiling and documentation processes at their respective designated agencies, which include SUBEB, TESCOM, or the Civil Service Commission, depending on their specific deployment.
In his congratulatory message to the newly employed teachers, the Permanent Secretary emphasized the government's strong expectation that they will actively contribute their quota toward the overall improvement of the state's education sector.
The new recruits have been urged to display a high level of professionalism in their daily engagements to ensure better academic performance and outcomes for students across Osun State.
