Osun APC slams misleading Ogunbiyi video

By Ismail Azeez
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned the public against a "twisted and misleading" video circulating on social media, which allegedly misrepresents remarks made by party chieftain and senatorial aspirant, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the APC accused the Accord Party and supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke of deliberately cropping the video to create internal friction.
The party clarified that the footage falsely portrays the insurance magnate as doubting the APC's ability to reclaim the state, whereas the full context shows his "unconditional pledge" to support the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
The APC described Ogunbiyi as a "credible, trusted, and dependable" leader who remains fully committed to the party’s mission.
The statement questioned why the "purveyors of the distorted video" conveniently omitted parts where Ogunbiyi praised the choice of AMBO and reaffirmed his dedication to the August 15 gubernatorial victory.
The friction highlights the high stakes of the upcoming Osun 2026 election, as propaganda becomes a central tool for both the ruling and opposition parties.
specifically naming the Accord Party, the APC is signaling a multi-front political battle, suggesting that smaller parties may be acting as proxies for the incumbent administration.
This defense of Ogunbiyi is also strategic; as a senatorial aspirant for Osun West, his loyalty is vital for the APC to maintain a united front in a key battleground district.
party’s swift reaction aims to shut down any narrative of internal sabotage before it gains traction among the electorate.
