Ondo varsity VC congratulates Akeredolu over second term inauguration

Prof. Sunday Ogunduyile, the Vice Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo State, has congratulated Gov.  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) on his second term inauguration as the  Governor of Ondo State.

Akeredolu and his Deputy Governor-elect, Lucky Ayedatiwa , would be sworn into office as governor and deputy governor on Wednesday in Akure.

Ogunduyile, in a statement on Wednesday said that Akeredolu’s leadership qualities and sterling performance in education, health, security and other sectors were responsible for his re-election.

He said that he was indeed confident that Akeredolu would do more to ensure that education was taken to the highest level and the state institutions would be rated among the best in the country.

“The governor came as a visitor to our institution after his first term inauguration; he ordered a 2.4 kilometer road network to be constructed which changed the face of our institution and which we are enjoying today.

“Our institution was a one faculty but now has three faculties (now called schools), which were being facilitated by our governor and also released funds for completion of the school library, senate building and the school auditorium which have been abandoned for years.

“The changing of our institution’s name from Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) to OAUSTECH to immortalise former Governor, Olusegun Agagu gave our institution a new brand.

“Through the help of our governor, OAUSTECH for the first time won a multi-million research equipment from U.S. based Seeding-Lab and also got recognition from the Tertiary Institution Trust Fund (TETFund) projects (completed and ongoing).

“Having recorded all these milestone in the first term, I believe he will do more in other areas that we need him in his second term.

“On behalf of the Governing Council, management, staff and students of this institution, I felicitate with our governor and his deputy on their inauguration and pray that God will direct him on his onerous task of piloting the affairs of the state to an enviable height,” Ogunduyile said.
