Ojokoro Council Boss partners Lions Club Int’l, gives relief materials to flood victims

The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID)  has partnered with Lions Club International District 404B2 led by District Governor, Aare Lekan Owolabi to give out relief materials to flood victims in the constituency.  The Council boss appreciated the club members for the partnership and urged constituent members to desist from dumping of refuse in the drainages as it is one of the major reasons for flooding.

“I will wish to express our profound gratitude to Lions Club International Foundation, particularly members of Lions Club International, District 404 B2, for this kind gesture and the impressive partnership, as it will have a positive impact on the lives of the affected victims,” HID Tijani said.

“Let me further use this medium to once again advise all residents of Ojokoro LCDA to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse at illegal places, particularly in the drainages to avoid unnecessary flooding, which may cause havoc in our various communities,” HID concluded.

The District governor of Lions Club International District 404B2, Aare Lekan Owolabi (MJF, NLCF), expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the collaboration between the Local Council Development Area and the organisation, emphasising the fundamental principles of service to humanity.

According to Owolabi, the purpose of the distributed relief supplies was to provide aid to the community’s flood victims.

He said, “In order to prevent despair, we must constantly demonstrate our love and care for those who were impacted.”

The programme’s beneficiaries who could not curtail their joy praised the sponsors, saying that they have both demonstrated a genuine sense of humanity.

The council boss also used the opportunity of the conference to remind all residents of Ojokoro LCDA, once again, on the need to obtain their permanent voters card (PVC) which will enable them vote for the candidate of their choice in the forthcoming general elections.

Present at the event are the vice chairman of the council, Hon Oladipupo Coker, all the Council’s legislators, led by the leader, Hon. Tunde Oyekunle, Supervisors, Special Advisers, the management team, members of Lions Club International and other stakeholders in the LCDA.
