NTDA, Brazil move to deepen tourism partnership

The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority has strengthened diplomatic engagement with Brazil as part of efforts to boost international tourism cooperation and cultural exchange.

Director-General Olayiwola Awakan paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Consul General of Brazil, Aranaldo Clarete, where both sides discussed opportunities to deepen bilateral relations in the tourism sector.

The meeting focused on expanding tourism exchange programmes, promoting travel between Nigeria and Brazil, and building stronger cultural ties that could open new pathways for collaboration in the creative and hospitality industries.

Awakan reaffirmed NTDA’s commitment to positioning Nigeria as a competitive global tourism destination through strategic international partnerships and cultural diplomacy.

In response, the Brazilian envoy expressed openness to future collaborations, including joint tourism initiatives and cultural events aimed at strengthening relations between both countries.

The engagement aligns with Nigeria’s broader push under the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy to expand its global tourism footprint and attract more international visitors through partnership-driven development.
