The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has assured residents of Jigawa State of a hitch-free local government election scheduled for tomorrow.

The Jigawa State Commandant, Muhammad Danjuma, said over 1,800 officers and personnel have been mobilized and deployed to all polling units, collation centers, and key locations to provide security before, during and after the electoral process.

“Our officers have been well-trained and equipped to handle any security challenges that may arise during the election. We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for citizens to exercise their voting rights without fear or intimidation,” said the Commandant.

The Command has also coordinated with other security agencies to ensure a seamless and collaborative approach to securing the election. Additionally, NSCDC’s intelligence unit will be active in monitoring the situation, gathering real-time information, and addressing any potential threats.

The NSCDC urges all political parties, candidates, and voters to abide by the rules and regulations governing the election process. The Command also warns that any attempt to disrupt the electoral process or engage in violence will be met with the full force of the law.

Voters are encouraged to go out and exercise their franchise without any fear or intimidation and also cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities through the Command’s hotlines to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
