Noohra crosses 80-hour mark in Guinness World Record Dance marathon attempt

Nigerian dancer and creative powerhouse, Oluwatosin Solaru, widely known as Noohra, has surpassed 80 hours in her audacious attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Dance Marathon by an Individual.
The record-breaking bid, which began on Saturday, 22 June 2025 at the Royal Roots Mall, Nile Cinema, Ikota Primary School, Lagos, is aimed at completing an intense 150-hour non-stop dance challenge. Noohra’s goal is to not only shatter the current global record but also to inspire a generation through a message of endurance, faith, and artistic expression.
Now well past the halfway mark, the atmosphere at the venue has grown electric, drawing crowds of supporters, local entertainers, and an expanding media presence. Noohra’s performance is being carried out under strict compliance with Guinness World Records guidelines, including constant regulatory supervision, medical oversight, and official timekeeping.
Joshua Oriola, Noohra’s trainer and on-site support lead, described her progress as a powerful display of human resolve. “She’s pushing beyond limits most people never touch. The body has been aching since day two, but her spirit hasn’t wavered for a second,” Oriola told Nigerian NewsDirect at the venue. “What Noohra is doing is not just about dance. It’s about discipline, belief, and a deep well of inner strength. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Speaking ahead of the attempt, Noohra shared, “This is more than just about setting a record. It’s about inspiring people, especially young Nigerians, to dream boldly and work tirelessly. Dance is my language, and with it, I want to tell a story of strength, consistency, and faith.”
The event remains open to the public and has evolved into a week-long cultural celebration, complete with performances by local artists, community engagements, and surprise appearances from celebrities and creatives across Lagos. Guests are encouraged to visit the venue, lend their support, and witness a defining moment in Nigerian and global dance history.
The current record for the longest dance marathon by an individual stands at 126 hours, held by Nepal’s Bandana Nepal. Noohra’s target of 150 hours would eclipse that by a significant margin.
