Nigerians are contributing to global economic prosperity – Bagudu

The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has disclosed that Nigerians are contributing to the global economic prosperity.

The Minister stated this while delivering his Goodwill message at the Anti Irregular migration submit tagged the ” The Japa Conundrum held in Abuja on Thursday.

He said ” We’re not looking for a day that migration will stop but we are looking for a regular migration for positive changes.We will encourage regular migration that our people will migrate to share knowledge, ideas,cultures and abide by the laws of that country.

We don’t want our people to travel out of necessity but they should go out of their choices.we can support the corrections of what we are hearing about irregular migration.

“We’re creating skills based jobs for Nigerians by transforming our country. Our hard working men and women are contributing to global economic prosperity.”

The Ministered encouraged youths to support the President Tinubu’s led administration noting that though things are hard now but those countries we celebrating today took hard measures.

The Organiser of the event and Chief Executive Officer of Blacks Ancestral Native Communities (BANC) foundation, Dr. Chibuzor Onyema summoned that many Africans youth seeking for greener pastures embark on dangerous journeys across the desert that some lost their lives on these routes.

He said ” To raise awareness and provide solutions the foundation is launching the starcare Programme that will focus on sensitization, training, advocacy and rehabilitation.

Dr. Onyema stressed that the solutions to irregular migration lies on quality education, good governance, effective healthcare delivery, regular migration channels and collaboration between countries to protect vulnerable migrants.

The Keynote speaker, Prof. Patrick Lumumba said the entire Africans youth are moving for Greener pastures because there are not opportunities occasioned by collapsed system.

Prof. Lumumba suggested the way forward is redefining our leadership system to focus on Africa with the mind set to begin to think right.

He said “part of the African problem is the quality of politics we have. We shouldn’t shy away from this. Each Africa country is moving from disaster to disaster. Look at the entire GDP, the economy of Germany alone is two times more than the entire economy of Africa.

“Playing good politics creates the oxygen where the economy breathes, and when the economy breathes things begins to happen, job creation open ways in Africa. If we’re not careful Africa will be recolonized again. “

On her part, Hon. Doris Amaka National President Association of Youths Female in Leadership tasked on the government to develop vocational training programs, establish innovation hubs and promote entrepreneurship.

Hon. Amaka who was a former Senatorial Candidate in FCT emphasized that reform in governance and policy, invest in education and research and fostering national pride and patriotism will curb irregular migration.

She appealed to the federal government to intervene by assisting to evacuate Nigerians who are innocently imprisoned in foreign countries back home and provide jobs for them.
