A renowned Nigerian industrialist and philanthropist has been honoured with the prestigious U.S. volunteer award in the United States of America.

The U.S. President, Mr. Joe Biden, conferred the much coveted Volunteer Award on Jonathan Irafor, (FIOG) last week in honor of his contributions to helping humanity.

The award, came through Access Point Incorporation, an organisation that specialises in helping people globally.

The awardee, who could not contain his excitement noted that the well-deserved honour, was traceable to offering helping hands to people through Volunteering.   According to him, it has always been his joy to provide qualitative humanitarian services to the people whenever the occasion demands.

He noted that, “In his order of priority, people come first, because when people are well taken care of, life will be injected in everything else. And that has been my motivating factor in all that I do.

“I am of the view that service to humanity is the rent we must continually pay. That is, making the world a better place through the creation of opportunities in various capacities.

“So when I got the notification for the award, I was elated, but not surprised because it has always been my delight to contribute my little quota in ameliorating the many challenges of people, and that is why it was easy for me to offer services under the flagship of Access Point Incorporation who also pursue the same vision at the global level.”

He, therefore, charged Nigerians to make it a point of duty to offer help to one another and create opportunities that can make the world a better place, while the government should do more in making the environment conducive for people to find expression for their potentials.

Reacting to the honour bestowed on the awardee, a business magnate, who also doubles as a friend, Chief Mrs. Hello Orefo, noted that the global recognition is another cap added to the several landslide achievements of her friend.

She said, “One thing is clear, when one is committed to helping others, such an individual will be recognised and honoured. I believe who the cap fits wears it.”

It is noteworthy to recall, that earlier in the year, the awardee, was conferred with a fellowship by the Institute of Oil and Gas Research & Hydrocarbon, a reputable organisation in West Africa.
