The Western Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy has restated its dedication to deepening its collaboration with SIFAX Group in protecting Nigeria’s coastal and maritime territory.
This reassurance came during a courtesy visit to the SIFAX Group management team by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Michael Gregory Oamen. He expressed heartfelt appreciation for SIFAX Group’s consistent backing of the Navy’s operations.
Rear Admiral Oamen stressed the importance of a strong alliance between the military and private sector players in maintaining a secure and prosperous maritime sector.
“It is our constitutional duty to safeguard the nation’s maritime environment, ensuring it is safe for both economic activities and national defence,” he said.
“But we cannot do this in isolation. Over the years, partnerships with key players like SIFAX Group have played a vital role in helping us meet this responsibility.”
Mrs Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, Group Coordinating Director, who spoke on behalf of the Chairman, warmly welcomed the Naval delegation and acknowledged the enduring relationship between the two organisations.
“SIFAX has always opened its doors to all maritime stakeholders, including the Nigerian Navy,” she noted.
“We deeply value this relationship and are eager to keep working together to improve maritime safety and support regional trade.”
The visit served as a meaningful opportunity for both sides to reaffirm their shared commitment to building a safe and stable maritime environment that supports business operations, smooth logistics, and sustainable economic development.
The Nigerian Navy reiterated its readiness to remain ever-watchful in protecting the country’s waters, while SIFAX Group reaffirmed its pledge to continue backing the Navy’s mission and efforts.
