NGX reports gain of equities market to 0.19%

The Nigerian exchange limited (NGX) on Tuesday closed on a positive note amidst sell-offs and buy-interests as the benchmark All Shares Index (ASI) depreciated by 89.52 absolute points.

The market price was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks amongst are Fidelity,wapic, Meyer, Regalins, Cutix and others.

All Shares Index inched by 89.52 basis points, to represent an increase of 0.19 per cent to close at 46,777.37 index points from 46,687.85 index points it opened for previous trading.

While, Overall Market Capitalisation valued appreciated by 49 billions to close at 25.218 trillion from 25.169 trillion it opened.

The total trade volume show an impressive increase of 17 per cent  from 219,495,846 million units it closed on Monday to 257,413,873 million units it closed yesterday, valued by N2.342 billions and exchange in 4,410 deals.

As measured by breadth, market sentiments was positive as MEYER led 18 gainers,While NIGERIA POLICE MICROFINANCE led 20 losers.

On the price movement table, MEYER emerged as the most gainer which increased by 8.86 per cent or 0.07 kobo increased to close trade at N0.86 per share, While REGALINS and FTN COCOA gained 0.02 kobo increased to close trade at N0.30 and 0.33 per share respectively.CUTIX rose by 0.12 kobo representing 5.85 per cent increased to close trade at N2.17 per share and CAVERTON which recorded as the last fifth gainer grew by 5.56 per cent or 0.07 kobo increased to close trade at N1.33 per share.

On the price losers chart, NIGERIA POLICE FORCE MICROFINANCE BANK was the highest price losers yesterday which dipped by 0.24 kobo representing 9.64 per cent to closed trade at N2.25 per share, LEARNAFRICA PLC followed as the second best loser which down by 9.14 per cent or 0.17 kobo to close trade at N1.69 per share. MULTIVERSE depreciated by 0.02 kobo to represent 8.70 per cent to close trade at N0.21 per share while RTBRISCOE which recorded as the last fourth losers declined by 0.04 kobo representing 6.67 per cent to close trade at N0.56 and NASCON dropped by 5.43 per cent or 0.70 kobo to close trade at N12.20 per share.

After trading yesterday, FIDELITY BANK was recorded as the highest trade stock which transacted N67.434 million shares worth 230.584 millions.TRASNSCORP followed as the second best trader which traded 40.889 million shares valued at N41.390 millions. While WAPIC INSURANCE PLC which recorded as the third best trader traded 18.317 million shares worth N7.373 millions.

GUARANTEED TRUST HOLDING COMPANY transacted 15.274 million shares valued at N341.232 millions,lastly ACCESSCORP traded 14.484 million shares worth 141.311 millions.
