NGX opens week with 1.30% gain in ASI

The Nigerian stock market opened on Monday with an advancement in the All-Share Index advanced by 1.30 percent, closing at 95,768.12 basis points.

Recall that the market had crossed the 90,000 Mark last week closing at 94,538.12 basis points.

With the last gain, the NGX-ASI now stands at 28.08 percent.

The NGX Market CAP also recorded a gain of N673.10 billion in Naira terms.

The total volume traded declined by 14.53 percent to close at N721.81m, valued at N14.41bn and traded in 15,757 deals. TRANSCORP was the most traded stock by volume with N66.52 million units traded, while NESTLE was the most traded stock by value with N1.97 billion units traded.

The Gote Index advanced by 8.72 percent to close at 327.58, while the Toni index declined by 0.72 percent to close at 969.69 basis points.

At the close of trading, the market recorded 24 gainers, 45 losers, and 52 unchanged. SUNUASSUR topped the gainer’s list, while CADBURY topped the list of losers.
