The Ifeoluwa Cerebral Palsy Initiative has called for collaboration with the Kwara State Government to advance advocacy, care, and empowerment programmes for people and families affected by cerebral palsy.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Social Development, Hajia Mariam Nnafatima Imam, PhD, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry by the Founder of the organisation, Mr Ifeoluwa Oluwaseyi Anise.
Imam stated that government involvement would form part of wider efforts to strengthen inclusion, raise awareness, and provide tangible support for those living with cerebral palsy. She stressed that demonstrating empathy and backing such initiatives could help ease the financial and social burdens linked to the condition.
The Commissioner commended Anise for his commitment to improving the lives of people with cerebral palsy, and encouraged him to sustain his drive for the good of the wider society.
Earlier, Anise explained that the visit was designed to seek government partnership and to deliver an official invitation to the Ministry for the forthcoming Cerebral Palsy Day celebration.
He noted that the event would be a platform to draw attention to the condition and rally stakeholders into action. According to him, the programme will also feature empowerment schemes for caregivers and persons with cerebral palsy, providing them with skills, tools, and opportunities that can enhance their quality of life and strengthen independence.
Anise also commended the state government for creating an enabling environment for initiatives such as his to operate, describing its support as crucial to the growth and impact of advocacy groups.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a plaque of recognition to the Commissioner in appreciation of her role in advancing inclusive policies and backing social development programmes in Kwara State.
