NBCC set to launch Software Programming Academy
The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) says all is set to launch the NBCC Programming Academy and Incubator for young women on Dec. 3.
The Director-General, NBCC, Mrs Ayomide Olajide, disclosed this at the Inauguration Press Conference, on Friday in Lagos.
Olajide said that the launch would take place at its annual Presidential Inauguration Dinner held to celebrate excellence in the Nigerian Business Sector and to promote Anglo-Nigerian business relationships.
She said that this year, the dinner, is set to be even more symbolic with the inauguration of the Chamber’s 17th and second female President, Mrs Bisi Adeyemi.
Olajide said: “The Presidential Inauguration Dinner is not only to celebrate and honour the President but also hold a grand and befitting event to showcase the Chamber and its activities.”
The Vice President, NBCC and Chairman of the Presidential Inauguration Dinner Committee, Mr Akin Osuntoki, said that the technology sector had grown tremendously.
He said that it had become pertinent for Nigerians to be active players in the sector, hence, the launch.
Osuntoki said that the Committee intends to showcase the NBCC as the foremost bilateral Chamber in Nigeria, diligently striving to deepen Anglo-Nigerian trade and investment.
According to the chamber, this year’s dinner will have Dr Olayemi Cardoso, Chairman Citibank Nigeria Ltd., as the Chairman of day and Dr Omobola Johnson, Chairman, Guiness Nigeria Plc as Guest Speaker.
The NBCC is the foremost bilateral Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, with the main objective of promoting trade and investment between Nigeria and Britain.
It has operated in line with this objective since inception in 1977.
