NBA playoff: Brandon Ingram vows to break shooting slump ahead of Game 3

Following a challenging start to the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram is maintaining a resilient outlook.

Despite averaging only 12.0 points on 33.3% shooting over the first two contests, Ingram remains steadfast in his ability to regain his offensive rhythm as the series shifts to Canada.

The primary scorer for the Raptors has faced significant scrutiny following a disappointing Game 2 performance and previous comments regarding his role in the offensive rotation.

During Wednesday’s practice session at Scotiabank Arena, Ingram addressed the media with a focus on improvement.

“I’m confident I won’t miss all my shots and find a rhythm,” Ingram stated. “But I’m also confident in our team. I don’t want to sit here and make this all about [me].”

Despite the statistical dip, the Raptors’ locker room remains supportive. Guard RJ Barrett emphasized Ingram’s season-long contributions, noting that his All-Star caliber play was the catalyst for the team’s postseason berth.

Additionally, head coach Darko Rajakovic defended Ingram’s aggressive playstyle, suggesting that officiating has been inconsistent when the forward attacks the rim.

The Raptors currently trail the Cavaliers 0-2. Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday night in Toronto, where the home team must find a way to contain the backcourt duo of James Harden and Donovan Mitchell to avoid a 0-3 deficit.
