NAFDAC uncovers large stockpile of fake GSK Ampiclox, Cocodamol in Lagos
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has discovered a significant quantity of falsified and unregistered pharmaceutical products in Idumota, Lagos.
The agency revealed this in a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.
According to NAFDAC, the confiscated drugs, including Cocodamol and counterfeit GSK Ampiclox, were promptly removed as part of an ongoing operation to combat the illegal drug trade.
The statement read: “#IdumotaUpdate This morning, we uncovered large consignments of Cocodamol and falsified GSK Ampiclox, which have been evacuated.”
Authorities found Benxhexol-5 tablets packed in cellophane sachets, suspected to be in the process of further production and potentially mislabelled with fraudulent NAFDAC registration numbers.
