More tension as Iran launches drone at Israel

By Matthew Denis

Pandemonium and more dramatic escalation of tensions in the Middle East, a barrage of Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, was launched at Israel on Saturday.

This is contained in a televised statement on Saturday by the  IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari says Israel is “well-prepared” for the attack.

“We have prepared for diverse scenarios in advance. In order to intercept these launches, we have the circles of protection from both the navy and the air force on several layers,” he said.

He explained that the unmanned aircraft will take “several hours” to reach Israel, and sirens will sound if any areas are under threat.

“We are going to try to prevent them from reaching Israeli territory, that is our task,” he added.

“If they do enter Israeli airspace, then you will hear sirens and alarms wherever these threats enter and we will intercept them.”

Israel has been on heightened alert since an airstrike last week killed two Iranian generals in Syria.
