Last seen: Motokun Village, Patigi LGA, Kwara State
Date missing: March 2025

The family of Adeyiga is desperately seeking information about his wife, Oluwadamilola Wuraola Adeyiga (32), and her son, Solomon Adeyiga (4), who have been missing since the night armed bandits attacked their hometown of Motokun in Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State.

According to Mr. Adeyiga, now displaced and living in Ilorin, the family fled their home in the early hours of a March 10 2026 morning when gunshots erupted across the village.

“We ran. Everyone was running. There was shooting everywhere,” Mr. Adeyiga told our correspondent, his voice breaking. “I was holding Solomon’s hand. Damilola was behind us with our youngest son . In the chaos, we were separated. I haven’t seen them since.”

The attack on Motokun was one of several that have emptied once-thriving farming communities across Kwara North and Kwara South.
Oluwadamilola, a petite woman with a distinctive beautiful look was last seen wearing a blue wrapper and yellow blouse. Solomon, a kindergarten pupil who loved helping his father on the farm, was dressed in a faded green shirt and brown shorts.

Family members have searched displacement camps in Ilorin, Minna, and Lagos without success. They have also visited several hospitals and reported to the Kwara State Police Command.

“We have not stopped looking,” said Mr. Adeyiga. “Every day I go to the motor parks, show their photos. Someone must have seen them. They cannot just disappear.”

“We are working with security agencies to locate missing persons and reunite families,” she said.

Aisha Abdullahi, a fellow displaced resident now in Ilorin who fled Motokun the same night, recalled seeing a woman matching Oluwadamilola’s description near the outskirts of the village, frantically calling her son’s name as gunfire rang out in the distance.

“She was crying, ‘Solomon! Solomon!'” Mrs. Abdullahi said. “I told her to keep running, but she wouldn’t leave without him. That was the last I saw of her.”
