Sanwo-Olu to commission major projects across lagos next year – Omotoso

…As Commissioner lists hospitals, food hubs, schools among ongoing projects
Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, has disclosed that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will commission several landmark projects across the state by the end of this year and in 2026.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Lagos, Omotoso said the Sanwo-Olu administration, alongside Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, is determined to complete all ongoing projects without leaving any abandoned.
According to him, “All of the beautiful projects that you see that we have started, we are going to complete them. The new Massey Hospital is almost completed. The Opebi–Mende Link Bridge will be commissioned before the end of the year.”
He noted that the hospital would be fully equipped before commissioning, adding that other health projects like the General Hospital in Ojo are also nearing completion.
“In addition, some of our food hubs are already completed and will be commissioned very soon. Early next year, if not later this year, Lagos will have the biggest food hub in sub-Saharan Africa,” he said.
Omotoso explained that the food hub would have the capacity to feed about five million people for three months in the event of food shortages or price surges.
He further revealed that the Blue and Red Line Rail projects were advancing, with the Green Line expected to show significant progress before the end of the administration.
“Nothing we are doing now will be left incomplete,” Omotoso assured. “It is not in the DNA of the APC administration to abandon projects.”
The Commissioner also mentioned the completion of housing schemes such as Ajara in Badagry, Odo-Onosa, and Sangotedo, alongside plans to unveil what he described as “the biggest school in West Africa” located in Ajegunle.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that all major projects across health, housing, transportation, and education sectors are delivered within the lifetime of the Sanwo-Olu administration.
