Obinna, whose address was not given, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of burglary and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Anthonia Osayande, told the court that the offences were committed between September and Oct. 7, at No. 30c Babs Animashaun St., Surulere, Lagos state.

Osayande said that on the date, Obinna broke into the apartment of one Mr. Uchenna Udechukwu and allegedly stole four sets of microphones valued at N180, 000, and two sets of wireless speakers worth N90,000.

Other items allegedly stolen included two sets of guitars valued at N180,000, one combo worth; N90,000 and a N250, 000 keyboard.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Adewale Ojo, granted Obinna bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.

Ojo said the sureties must be the defendant’s paternal relatives and adjourned the matter until Nov. 14 for substantive trial.
