
Man bags six months imprisonment for stealing motorcycle worth N1.4m
An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Wednesday sentenced 28 – year- old Abdullahi Tajudeen to six months imprisonment for stealing a motorcycle valued at N1.4 million.
The Magistrate, Mr Maaruf Mudashiru, sentenced the convict to six months at the Agodi Correctional facility, after he pleaded guilty to stealing an unregistered motorcycle.
Mudashiru said the sentenced would serve as deterrent to others like him.
Earlier the Prosecuting Counsel, ASP Tunji Olaniyi told the court that on March 11, at about 10:30 a.m., at Odo – Kekere, Ibadan, the convict stole an unregistered TVS motorcycle property of one Akinwole Quzeem the complainant.
Olaniyi said that the complainant parked the motorcycle in front of his house, and went in to pick some things, on getting back, the motorcycle had been removed.
He said that while searching for the motorcycle, the complainant found the convict pushing the stolen motorcycle, adding that with the help of his neighbour, he was able to apprehend the convict.
He said the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
