Makinde vows to complete all Oyo projects before 2027 — Deputy Gov

The Oyo State Government has restated its resolve to complete all ongoing infrastructural projects across the state before the end of Governor Seyi Makinde’s tenure in 2027.

During a project monitoring visit to sites under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, gave firm assurances that no initiative would be left unfinished under the Omotuntun 2.0 agenda.

Lawal inspected the 8.24-kilometre Okudu–Oyada–FRSC Road in Atisbo and Saki West Local Government Areas, as well as the 21.953-kilometre Oloko–Oyo–Orita Aloba Road in Iseyin Local Government Area. He stated that the administration remains committed to delivering infrastructure that enhances rural connectivity, supports agricultural development, and improves the quality of life for residents.

Commending contractors for the progress made, the Deputy Governor noted that the state government would continue to maintain close oversight and provide support to ensure both timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

He affirmed that Governor Makinde’s development blueprint prioritises the welfare of citizens, with a clear emphasis on transparency and accountability.

“Every kobo spent on these projects must reflect in the daily experiences of our people. This administration is determined that by 2027, there will be no abandoned project, and residents will witness the full impact of their trust in us,” Lawal stated.

During the visit, Mr Abdulraheem Mojid, Secretary of the Grievance Redress Committee for the Okudu–Oyada Road, praised the state government’s initiative. He explained that the ongoing construction has already improved living conditions in Tede, Saki and surrounding communities, particularly by easing the transportation of agricultural produce and stimulating local trade.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye; the State Project Coordinator, Mrs Adeola Ekundayo; and other senior officials, all of whom pledged continued collaboration to meet delivery timelines.
