The Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority is set to commence stakeholder training on its newly introduced Electronic Physical Planning Process System (EPPPS) as part of efforts to strengthen compliance with Lagos State’s fully digitised planning permit regime.
The sensitisation and training programme, scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, is expected to bring together professionals and practitioners in the built environment, including architects, engineers, surveyors, developers and urban planners.
The training comes months after the Lagos State Government fully automated physical planning permit processing and outlawed manual applications across the state, marking a major shift in urban planning administration.
According to reports the EPPPS, a web-based platform, was introduced to simplify and digitise the application and approval process for planning permits, authorisation to commence construction works, and stage certification, among other services.
During the training industry stakeholders are expected to gain practical knowledge of the platform’s operations during the training, enabling them to navigate the digital permit system more efficiently and reduce delays associated with permit applications.
The state government said the platform is designed to improve transparency, eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks, and accelerate service delivery within the physical planning ecosystem.
The digital transition is also seen as part of broader efforts to curb regulatory violations and address the persistent challenge of building collapse by ensuring stricter compliance with approved building standards.
The training is expected to further reinforce the state government’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance governance, improve ease of doing business, and build a smarter, more resilient megacity.
