Lagos NYSC gets new State Coordinator
By Sodiq Adelakun
Mrs. Christiana Salmwang has taken over as the new Lagos State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), succeeding Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa.
This change in leadership follows Baderinwa’s redeployment to the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja, where she will assume a higher position.
Salmwang, a seasoned NYSC veteran with a rich background in sociology and defence studies, is the 24th Lagos State Coordinator.
With her extensive experience and academic credentials, she is well-equipped to lead the NYSC in Lagos State.
According to the NYSC Lagos State statement, Salmwang’s transfer to the Lagos State Secretariat marks a new chapter in the scheme’s operations.
Her wealth of experience, spanning over two decades, has prepared her for this critical role.
Salmwang’s academic background includes a degree in Sociology from Bayero University, Kano, and a Master’s Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy. Her NYSC journey began in 1998, and she has since worked in various capacities across different states, including Kaduna, Plateau, and Enugu, as well as at the NYSC Headquarters.
As Salmwang assumes her new role, she is expected to build on the progress made by her predecessor and drive the NYSC in Lagos State towards greater heights.
Her leadership will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the lives of corps members and the overall success of the scheme in the state.
