The Lagos State Government is set to host the 19th edition of its Executive and Legislative Parley as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen intergovernmental collaboration and improve service delivery across the state.
The 3-day event, organised through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement (OPL&CE), is scheduled to be held from April 21 to April 23, 2026, at Eko Hotels and Suites.
The parley, which is a strategic platform aimed at fostering synergy between the executive and legislative arms of government, will focus on the theme: “Equal Participation in Governance: Highlighting the Importance of Collaboration in Achieving the THEMES Plus Agenda.”
Speaking on the significance of the programme, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, described the forum as a vital mechanism for promoting inclusive governance and policy alignment.
According to him, the parley provides an avenue for policymakers and stakeholders to engage constructively, ensuring that governance objectives are achieved through shared responsibility and coordinated action.
He states that the event will bring together key stakeholders from both arms of government, alongside top public officials, to deliberate on strategies for strengthening collaboration, deepening democratic engagement, and enhancing service delivery to residents.
The state government said the 19th edition will build on the outcomes of the previous parley held in 2024 at the same venue, which addressed critical issues such as economic challenges, calls for special federal status for Lagos State, and the constitutional recognition of the 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
The parley is expected to further consolidate efforts toward improved governance outcomes, reinforce institutional cooperation, and advance the THEMES Plus development agenda of the state government.
The initiative underscores Lagos State’s continued commitment to inclusive governance and effective coordination between critical arms of government in driving sustainable development.
