Lagos conducts placement test for 204,413 primary school pupils

…Commissioner inspects examination centres

The Lagos State government has conducted a placement test for primary six pupils transitioning to junior secondary school, with a total of 204,413 pupils in attendance across 400 locations in the state.

The Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, inspected the examination centres and reiterated the benefits of enrolling pupils in Lagos State public schools.

Aside from the fact that public schools in Lagos State are free, the state boasts of the best-qualified teachers in the country, and we pick the bills for both BECE and WAEC examinations for terminal classes students in all junior and senior secondary schools,” Alli-Balogun said.

He added that students of Lagos State public schools are noted for winning medals for the state and the country in national and international competitions.

The commissioner stated that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has done a lot to improve infrastructure, teachers’ and students’ welfare, resulting in a significant turnaround in the quality of teaching and learning in Lagos State over the past five years.

The placement test was conducted by the Lagos State Examinations Board to enable pupils to enrol in public schools across the state.
