Lagos appeals for help in identifying woman in baby abuse video

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), has issued a plea to the public for assistance in identifying a woman captured in a distressing video maltreating a baby for allegedly urinating on the floor.
The agency strongly condemned the reprehensible act in a statement shared on its verified Twitter handle @LSdsva on Saturday, urging individuals to come forward with any information that could lead to the woman’s whereabouts.
In the viral footage, the woman can be seen striking the baby with a rod, disregarding the child’s cries. Shockingly, she proceeded to forcefully push the baby to the ground and step on the infant’s stomach with both legs.
The agency expressed uncertainty regarding the perpetrator’s identity, questioning whether she is the child’s mother or a caregiver.
DSVA implored the public to contact the agency via direct message or its Toll-Free Line – 08000333333 – to provide any pertinent information regarding the incident’s location or the individual involved.
“It cannot be ascertained if the perpetrator in the video is the mother of the child or a maid.”
Commenting on the video, DSVA urged the public to get in touch with the agency if they have any information as to where the incident happened.
“Trigger warning. Our attention has been drawn to the video.
“Anyone with information about the person involved or the location, kindly send us a DM or call our Toll Free Line – 08000333333 to make a report,” it stated.
