Lectures have commenced at the Ilesha-Baruba Campus of the Kwara State University (KWASU), prompting a wave of commendation from the community's leadership.

The Emir of Ilesha-Baruba in Baruten Local Government Area, Professor Halidu Abubakar, lauded the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, describing him as a people-oriented leader whose visions transcend the current generation.

Speaking during a meeting with key community stakeholders at his palace, the Emir noted that the start of academic activities at the campus is a significant milestone for the educational and socio-economic advancement of the entire Baruten Local Government Area.

He emphasized that hosting the campus has not only repositioned Ilesha-Baruba but also strengthened its relevance in the educational development of the state and beyond.

Professor Abubakar, who is also a Professor of Economics, specifically praised Governor AbdulRazaq’s unwavering commitment to equitable development across all zones of Kwara State.

He pointed out that the commencement of lectures at the Ilesha Campus, which houses the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, showcases the Governor's dedication to balanced development.

The traditional ruler expressed strong optimism that the institution would quickly become a hub for agricultural innovation, research, and human capacity development.

He believes this focus will particularly benefit the agrarian communities within the region, thereby significantly enhancing the area's socioeconomic status.

The Emir further commended the state government for its continued investment in education and infrastructure, seeing these efforts as clear indicators of the Governor’s dedication to inclusive growth.

He passionately urged the residents of Ilesha-Baruba and surrounding communities to support these initiatives by ensuring a conducive and welcoming environment for the staff and students.

"This is our baby, we must nurture it to growth, and ensure that all the necessary support and assistance is given to it," the Emir stated, reflecting on the long-term dream that has now come to fruition. The entire community, he stressed, remains committed to collaborating for the success of the institution.
