Kwankwaso’s son dumps NNPP, moves to ADC

Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of former Kano State governor and 2023 presidential candidate, has resigned from the (NNPP), signalling a significant political realignment.
In a statement shared on Monday via his Facebook page, Mustapha confirmed that his decision to exit the party was “deliberate and carefully considered,” adding that he has begun the process of joining the (ADC).
“I want to inform the general public that as of today, I have officially resigned my membership from the NNPP,” he said.
He expressed optimism about his move to the ADC, noting that the party’s vision aligns with his aspirations for governance and development. According to him, the ADC provides a credible platform to pursue economic growth, good governance, and improved welfare for Nigerians, particularly in Kano State.
Mustapha, who currently serves as Secretary of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, also reaffirmed his commitment to working with stakeholders who share similar development goals.
The development is expected to generate political ripples within the NNPP, especially given his ties to the influential Kwankwasiyya political structure led by his father.
His defection comes amid ongoing political realignments ahead of future electoral contests, with parties positioning themselves to strengthen their base across key states.
