KTSIEC engages 10,000 ad-hoc staff for LG elections conduct in Katsina
Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC) said it has engaged over 10,000 ad-hoc staff for the conduct of the April 11 local government elections in the state.
The KTSIEC Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bako, disclosed this during the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials on Sunday in Katsina.
According to Bako, all security arrangements have been put in place to make the exercise free, fair and credible.
He added that early distribution would enable the materials to reach the areas early so that the conduct of the elections would commence at the appropriate time.
The materials include ballot papers and result sheets, which were distributed in the presence of party agents after inspection and cross checking, to the 34 local government areas. Other materials distributed include about 334 cartons of forms EC 8A, B, C and E, containing booklets for both the Chairmanship and Councillorship Electoral ballot papers.
Meanwhile, the state government has declared today as work-free day for the electorates to come out en masse and participate in the local council’s elections.
