Kano seals illegal private clinic, three other operating theatres

Kano State Government has shut an illegal private health facility, Kabir Global Clinic at Rimi Village, Sumaila local government area.

A statement issued by the Executive Secretary,  Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA), Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu on Wednesday, said the illegal clinic was discovered in its ongoing supervisions of private health facilities in the state, with the aim to ensure quality health care service delivery.

The statement also said, three clinics namely Habeeba Salam Clinic in Garko LGA, Gidan Ruwa Clinic in Wudil LGA, and Ali Alkali Clinic in Takai LGA  were found to be conducting surgeries without the minimum number of professional personnel required ranging from  Doctors to nurses which eventually lead to the closure of the facility theatres until proper and adequate recruitment is conducted.

According to the statement, the operator of the illegal clinic will be prosecuted after the conclusion of the investigation.

The statement appealed to residents to support the agency with information on the activities of private health facilities in their environments so that quality health care can be guaranteed.
