Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to becoming Nigeria’s leading wheat producer, with a target to cultivate 5,000 hectares of wheat by 2030.

Speaking today at the Jigawa State Wheat Joint Project in Dabi village, Ringim Local Government Area, Namadi emphasised significant contributions of the state to national food production and its role in boosting agricultural output.

The governor expressed gratitude to the federal government and the African Development Bank for their ongoing support to the state’s agricultural development.

He emphasised that the success witnessed during the joint project event, attended by federal, state, and bank officials, was a result of the collective efforts to enhance agricultural productivity in the region.

“We remain committed to advancing wheat production in Jigawa, and with the continued support of the federal government and the African Development Bank, we are confident that we can meet our target of 5,000 hectares by 2030,” Governor Namadi stated.
