Ita Oba Olota festival promotes unity, cultural heritage — Comr. Oyetoro Oluwaseyi

A member of the media committee in Oba Olota of Ota Traditional Council, Comrade Oyetoro Oluwaseyi has explained that Ita Oba Festival is aimed at promoting unity, cultural heritage.

This was disclosed in an interview with Nigerian NewsDirect on Tuesday.

The Ita Oba Traditional Festival encourages people of different Calibers, in their different attires, in the Palace of Olota of Ota, his Royal Majesty, (Prof. Oba Adeyemi) as to celebrate with him and his family for another year of reigning on the thrown of his fore fathers.

According to Comr. Oyetoro Oluwaseyi,“the significance of this festivity is to come together here once in a while to address the issues of Ota Town development as well as other social services that we can create for the benefit of Ota indigenes in term of economic, political and social development for all.”

In a separate interview with another committee, Omoba Ganiu Adegbite, Committee said, “This is the 32nd anniversary of Ota Day for the year.

“The party is to enable them to gather here both the visitors (people in daispora) and the indigenes of Ota Town to celebrate with families, relatives, friends and companies owners in this Town for the progress of Ota community.

“Even our our king Olota of Ota, he was in Abroad before and with consultation of the palace Council, he was made the king of our Town here.”

He stressed further on economic impact through the event in Iganmode Hall which was recently built and also it affects individual businesses positively so with this annual Traditional event.

“And on current administration of our deputy Governor, (Engr. .Naimot Oyedele) who is our daughter here. She has been trying alot in term of infrastructural development of Ota Town. And to say the least, like we have new roads in Ota Town and I would like her to do more in the area of health and education for our children and youth in the Ota community.” He reiterated.

Meanwhile, he advised the entire youths of Ota Town to hold themselves in unity and to work together towards achieving the community goal.

Oloye nla Ganiu Baale in Ota Town during our interview with him said that this day Ita Oba Day Feasta can be best called a “religion tourism” where people in daispora and the home would gather together right here to celebrate with their king his Royal Majesty, Olota of Ota (Oba Prof. Adeyemi) more so to thank God for another year of his reigning on the thrown.

Mrs. Akindele JB of (Iyalode Club) said that they’re very happy as a Club as
this day “Ita Oba Feasta’ is possible and they are all alive to witness it as well as to celebrate with their king, Oba Olota of Ota. She prayed may the good God continue to bless you and make him live long on the thrown.

Ward II SLV when interviewed said that they particularly represented their chairman Mr. Lai Taiwo who served during Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s administration in Ogun State and he has travelled for this year Mecca for Hajj.”
