A neighbourhood, who preferred anonymity while speaking with journalists on the incident said; "I heard the gunshot but I was scared and panicking until I heard her voice and daughter’s voice crying I rushed to the apartment, when I saw them on the floor she was bleeding profusely, and the little boy struggling on the floor, I shouted out to people for help and we rushed them to the hospital immediately."

He, however, called for the thorough investigation into the ugly incidents to prevent lost lives.
Speaking on how the incident happened when visited at the hospital, the victim, Damilola Adegbehingbe said; "I was in the room with my children when door was knocking I came out they were already inside the compound, I greeted and they said where's my husband, I answered he traveled and they asked me where he traveled to and I said sorry I don’t know you people, that they should please introduce themselves.
"What they said next was that we warned your husband and you but you didn't listen, and immediately one of them brought out a gun and shot at me and I fell down immediately and they left immediately, believing I was dead. Of which, my son was at my back, he even sustained injuries. It's only God that saved me and my son on that day, but the truth is that I can identify them if I see them because the light was on and they did not use masks. So I saw them clearly.
"I wonder how the incident happened to us because we don't have any issues with anybody. But what I know was that, last December a letter was written to us threatening that we should leave the land we bought, that my husband laboured for. And we've taken steps to at least stop the threat. But there was no good result. Later, we decided to leave Obanla and rented an apartment at Oluwatuyi quarters where the incident happened."
Mrs. Adegbehingbe, however, appealed to the governments at all levels to rescue her family.
