Gunmen kill Miyetti Allah leader, abduct wives, daughter in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the killing of Alhaji Amadu Surajo, the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

According to reports, the attack, carried out by yet-to-be-identified gunmen, also resulted in the abduction of Surajo’s wives and left three others dead, with several people injured.

The incident occurred between late Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday in Mai Rana village, located in Kusada Local Government Area.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the assailants abducted Surajo’s first and second wives, along with one of his daughters, who is reportedly an undergraduate at a public university in Nigeria. However, it was later confirmed that the first wife has been released by the attackers.

Speaking to newsmen on Sunday, the Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Police Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq confirmed the killing but noted that the incident was still being investigated.
