Alhaji Mustapha Salihu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Adamawa, has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving a Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) project in Fufore Local Government Area.
Salihu gave the commendation on Monday during his campaign tour of Fufore, Girei and Yola South Local Government Areas.
“The TCN project is a key Federal Government intervention aimed at improving electricity supply in Fufore and its environs.
“This will bring, improved power supply, boost industrial activities and attract investment to the area,” he said.
Salihu commended the Tinubu administration for promoting peace, security and economic development in the country.
The aspirant said his vision was to position Adamawa as a hub for agricultural production and industrial development.
He urged residents to support his aspiration for the overall progress of the state.
Salihu described Fufore as an agrarian community with vast potential, particularly in rice production.
He said that rice produced in the area was often processed outside the state and resold to residents.
The aspirant pledged to establish local processing facilities to create jobs, strengthen the economy and improve livelihoods.
Salihu said, if elected, he would build on the achievements of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri to transform the state into an industrial hub.
“If given the chance to be the next governor, I will leverage the successes of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri to make the state an industrial hub of Nigeria, as I strongly count on you on this journey”
“I promise fairness, justice and inclusive governance, and decisions under my leadership would be based on wide consultations,” he said.
The aspirant and his entourage also visited the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ribadu, to seek royal blessings and support.
He assured the traditional ruler of his commitment to developing the area into a food and industrial hub, especially in rice production.
Responding, Ribadu expressed appreciation for Salihu’s continued ties with the community.
The emir said land had already been approved for the TCN project and was available for immediate use by the government.
