Gov Abiodun commissions fire station, 3.1km Vespa/Olose road in Ifo LG

Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Tuesday, during his second term campaign to Ifo Local Government reiterated the commitment of his administration to pursuance of projects that will continually make life more bearable for the residents of the state.

Gov Abiodun disclosed this while commissioning newly built Ifo fire station equipped with two fire service trucks and other fire fighting equipment.

The Governor equally during the campaign commissioned 3.1km Vespa-Olose road.

Abiodun while addressing the mammoth crowd and teeming party members that came to welcome him into the Local Government disclosed that he was compelled to build the new fire station at Ifo giving its strategic location as border town to Lagos State and a very densely populated area of the State.

He declared that in the past, the Local Government had to call for fire fighters from Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government whenever there was any fire incident in the town, saying that the construction of the new fire station would definitely aid quick response and help to salvage the situation whenever there is any fire outbreak.

While saying that the commissioning of the fire station is part of his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises, Gov Abiodun said that his government had also built three additional fire stations each at Iseri, Agbara and Ibafo.

The Governor said that the construction of the 3.1km Vespa-Olose road was part of deliberate plans of his government to further open up every part of the State and improve on the ease of doing business in the State.

Abiodun said that the Joju section of Abeokuta-Sango Ota expressway which indeed belong to the Federal Government had also been rehabilitated while the Ewekoro-Ifo section of the road will also receive due attention before the rain begins.

He said that his government had also approved the old bank road in the town, saying that his administration had constructed over 400km of roads across the 20 Local Governments in the last three and half years.

While saying that his government would never deviate from serving the common good of the people of the State, the Governor pleaded with the people to go collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC’s) and return him for another four years of purposeful governance during the March 11 governorship elections.

Abiodun equally urged the people to vote for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) including its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying that the party will continue to implement programmes that will make life more rewarding for all Nigerians.

Speaking earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Olakunle Oluomo lauded the Governor for being very humane and alive to his campaign promises.

Oluomo disclosed that the last time Ifo had commissioning of any landmark project was during the administration of Chief Segun Osoba over 20 years ago, disclosing that the the people of the local government are quite appreciative of the Abiodun’s love and would surely reciprocate with massive votes for him and the party during the coming elections.

The Commissioner for Special Duties in Ogun, Hon Femi Ilori Oduntan lauded the Governor for his commitment to ensure the well-being of the residents of the State, explaining that the governor has not only built four fire stations, but has also employed over 150 fire fighters officers and this he said has no doubt improved on the effectiveness of fire fighters in the State.
