Fidson shareholders approve ₦3.6bn dividend

Shareholders of Nigeria’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, Fidson Healthcare Plc, have approved a dividend payout of ₦1.50 per 50 kobo ordinary share, totaling ₦3.6 billion, during the company’s 27th Annual General Meeting held virtually on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
The dividend highlights a historic performance period in which the company recorded ₦119.06 billion in annual revenue, making Fidson the first pharmaceutical firm in Nigeria to cross the ₦100 billion benchmark.
The meeting also marked the one-year anniversary of a successful board and management leadership transition, which investors lauded as proof of the company’s strong corporate governance, resilience, and effective succession planning amidst a tough economic landscape.
Addressing investors, Founder and Chairman of the company, Dr. Fidelis Ayebae described 2025 as a landmark year driven by robust long-term growth strategies, strong shareholder support, and a dedicated workforce.
He extended appreciation to the Federal Government for introducing policies that support local pharmaceutical manufacturing, enabling firms to supply high-demand medications at accessible prices.
Dr. Ayebae added that ongoing expansion projects are nearing completion, a move set to establish Fidson as the largest and most advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprise in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In his remarks, the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Biola Adebayo reiterated the company’s commitment to driving long-term value by expanding manufacturing capacity, broadening product offerings, and deepening market penetration across Africa.
Shareholders praised the leadership team for sustaining financial growth and maintaining a balanced dividend policy that rewards investors while preserving capital for future projects.
Beyond the dividend approval, shareholders passed key resolutions regarding director elections, auditor remuneration, and the appointment of Statutory Audit Committee members.
The meeting also demonstrated Fidson’s modern corporate strategy through digital shareholder engagement, utilizing e-dividend registration and virtual participation tools as the company prepares for its next phase of expansion across the African healthcare ecosystem.
