Famodun scores conduct of Osun local govt council elections high

The chairman of the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun, has commended the conduct of the local government council elections that took place across the state yesterday.

Famodun disclosed that the state Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) under the chairmanship of Otunba Segun Oladitan really tried its best to ensure that the local government council elections were free, fair and credible.

According to Famodun in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital yesterday, the elections were successful by all standards.

The state party chairman appreciated the commitment of the voters towards the successful conduct of the elections by their peaceful conduct throughout the duration of the elections.

He stated that the peaceful conduct of the elections was an indication that the people of the state have been yearning for the birth of an elected democratic government at the grassroots in the state.

Famodun hinted that the successful conduct of the local government council elections has succeeded in adding more feathers to the enviable performance score card of the Governor Oyetola-led administration.

The state APC chairman disclosed further that the reports of the elections from across the state were impressive.

He explained that the successful conduct of the elections proved some cynics wrong that it wouldn’t be possible for the OSSIEC to hold the elections.

In Famodun’s words: “I congratulate the people of the state on their peaceful conduct during the local government council elections that were successfully held across the state yesterday.

“The totality of the conduct of the elections was impressive of which its brighter showing was predicated on the co-operative and orderly voters”, the APC state chairman observed.
