Defection: No political conspiracy can derail Tinubu’s re-election — APC Chieftain

By Ismail Azeez, Osogbo

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has asserted that no amount of political scheming can prevent President Bola Tinubu from securing re-election in 2027.

In a statement released on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye dismissed concerns over recent defections of APC members to opposition parties, insisting that such moves pose no threat to the president’s political standing or the stability of the ruling party.

Describing defection as a routine occurrence in politics, he argued that it would be a grave miscalculation for anyone to believe that the departure of so-called APC members would have any significant impact on Tinubu’s chances in the next general election.

Oyintiloye urged the president to intensify public engagement and awareness efforts regarding his administration’s achievements and future plans.

He stressed that increased communication would enable Nigerians to assess government policies and programmes objectively.

“Whether one accepts it or not, no political conspiracy can derail President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” Oyintiloye stated.

“Those strategising against him should take time to understand the calibre of leader he is. He has a winning strategy and is fostering a network of dedicated individuals across Nigeria.

“His accomplishments, political acumen, and commitment to national development will speak for him now and in the future.

“The president will succeed, and his political adversaries will come to realise their miscalculation in opposing him.

“Those stoking political divisions against him should examine his track record, achievements, and widespread acceptance across the country.

“Tinubu’s political influence, resilience, and deep-rooted connections—qualities that propelled him to victory in 2023—will once again ensure his success in 2027.”

He further emphasised that educating the public on the administration’s positive contributions would enable voters to make informed decisions based on performance rather than sentiment.
