Fallacies from depraved minds

By  Joko F. Adeduntan

As expected, sponsored lies and fallacious statements have begun to emerge from the covens of jobless, hatchet minds that the Osun Government has used the rice donation by the Private Sector Coalition Against Covid-19 to float its Osun Food Support Scheme. It comes as no surprise because these people have shown over time that even the miracle of resurrection happened in their very presence, they still parade the town with erroneous narratives having been bankrolled to do so.

In case the publishers of the fallacious and baseless opinion have forgotten so soon, the CACOVID rice was delivered in broad daylight, and its distribution was done immediately from CACOVID’s trucks to each Local Government’s vehicle, following the flag-off of the distribution by CACOVID’s representatives. The distribution of CACOVID’s 40,233 bags of 10kg rice was concluded on January 6. None of these exchange process was concealed by the Osun State Government, except that mischief makers choose to ignore such details.

It would have been ideal not to dignify these products of debased minds, but for posterity sake and the fact that Internet never forgets, it is expedient to set the records straight that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola did not exhume hidden CACOVID rice to float a welfare scheme. The Osun Food Support Scheme is an initiative that is strictly an Adegboyega Oyetola and Osun Government’s idea of supporting the vulnerable.

The Oyetola-led government has done nothing but keep its words to the People, and Oyetola is not like those who live,  breathe and thrive on propaganda. His investments in toward the vulnerable in the State should not be trivialised by hungry men who see nothing good in well-intentioned initiatives like the Osun Food Support Scheme.

Osun government under the leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has consistently expressed its willingness to take care of vulnerable in the State and should not be distracted by idle minds and hands. It is also worthy of note that the Osun Food Support Scheme is a non-discriminatory scheme, and if some of these detractors can swallow their pride and align with any of the recognised associations, they also can be among the 570,000 that the government will feed.
