Eterna Plc has projected a profit after tax of N1 billion for the 2025 financial year, signaling confidence in sustaining profitability despite weaker revenues and cash flows compared to the previous year.
According to its earnings forecast filed with the Nigerian Exchange, the downstream oil and gas company expects its full-year income to come in lower than the N1.38 billion profit recorded in 2024.
The fourth-quarter net income is estimated at N130.38 million, representing a 32.13 percent decline from its earlier third-quarter projection of N192.12 million.
For the second half of 2025, the oil marketer projects a profit of N322.5 million, down 43.79 percent from the N573.81 million recorded in the first six months of the year.
Despite the slowdown, Eterna sees its fourth-quarter gross profit at N2.96 billion, bringing its annual gross earnings from core operations to N13.59 billion.
Revenue for the final quarter is estimated at N49.59 billion, pushing full-year sales to N243.06 billion, a 22.5 percent decline from N313.61 billion posted in 2024.
The company attributed the contraction to volatility in the downstream oil and gas sector, which has weighed on topline performance.
Eterna also projects net cash from operating activities at N8.52 billion for 2025, nearly 46 percent below the N15.74 billion reported last year, reflecting possible margin pressures and higher operating costs.
Meanwhile, the company’s share price has shed 18 percent of its value in the past four weeks, according to African Exchange data, even though the stock remains up 27.6 percent year-to-date at N31 per share.
