President Bola Tinubu received a strong political endorsement from leaders in Enugu State, who pledged support for his re-election bid in 2027 during a high-level meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The delegation, led by Gov. Peter Mbah, included prominent political figures, security chiefs, former office holders, and traditional leaders. Among them were former Senate President Ken Nnamani and former governors Sullivan Chime and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Speaking during the meeting, Tinubu expressed appreciation for the show of support, noting that ongoing economic reforms are beginning to yield results across states. He commended sub-national governments for effectively utilising increased allocations to drive development in sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

The President also pointed to growing political realignments across the country, attributing them to the perceived impact of his administration’s policies and partnerships with state governments.

“We will continue to work together to build a nation of shared progress,” Tinubu said, while assuring the delegation of continued federal support for infrastructure projects, including rail development and power sector reforms.

Gov. Mbah, in his remarks, described the visit as a reflection of shared commitment to national development, stating that Enugu’s support was rooted in the administration’s engagement with the state and ongoing investments.

He highlighted key projects initiated during the President’s visit to Enugu, noting that they have contributed to the state’s socio-economic growth.

Former Senate President Nnamani also reaffirmed the state’s backing, expressing confidence in both the President’s leadership and the governor’s stewardship at the state level.

The meeting underscores a broader pattern of political alignment ahead of the 2027 elections, with support from regional leaders increasingly shaping the national political landscape.
