Eno commissions 4.8km road network in Eket LGA

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commissioned 4.8 kilometers of roads in the Eket Local Government Area.
Speaking during the commissioning of the 2.4km Ikot Akpa Ikpo – Urua Udo-Inyang Road and the 2.4km internal road network within Mkpok Estate Phase I and II, Governor Eno reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing all valuable projects inherited from previous administrations for the benefit of the public.
The Governor further emphasized that the people remain at the center of his administration’s focus.
He noted that the 2.4km Ikot Akpa Ikpo – Urua Udo-Inyang Road was one of the projects inherited from the previous administration, which his team completed due to its significant socio-economic impact on the area and neighboring communities.
He also revealed that his administration has embarked on constructing 38 kilometers of roads in Eket, which are currently at various stages of completion.
The Governor also promised an additional 12 kilometers of roads to bring the total to 50 kilometers.
This gesture, he explained, was to appreciate the hospitality of the Eket people and to demonstrate his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure across the state.
Governor Eno called on the youths of the area and the state at large to take ownership of and protect the roads and other public infrastructure within their vicinities.
Welcoming the Governor on behalf of the community, the Eket Local Government Chairman, Hon. Akaninyene Tommey, thanked the Governor for delivering on his promises to the people.
He described Governor Eno as a well-deserved honorary indigene of Eket whose administration has left remarkable footprints through numerous executed projects.
Highlighting the economic value of the Ikot Ekpene Udo – Idung Iniang project, the Chairman noted that the road links several communities across the Mbo, Esit Eket, and Eket Local Government Areas.
He thanked the Governor for improving the living standards of the people through strategic, high-quality projects and assured him of the continued support of the Eket people beyond 2027.
In his goodwill message, a former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, also appreciated the Governor for completing the road network.
He noted that the project, which was initiated by the previous administration in September 2021, is an economically viable route that connects multiple rural communities and provides access to the ancient Urua Udo-Inyang traditional market.
Dr. Ukpong described Governor Eno as a pragmatic and visionary leader who prioritizes public welfare over political considerations.
He praised the Governor for applying his finishers anointing to inherited projects, stating that this approach has deepened peace, unity, continuity, and public confidence in the administration.
Governor Eno, who spent the day in Eket, also stopped over to inspect the progress of the Afaha Atai and Iseyiridua roads.
