ENDSARS panel recommends 72 police officers for dismissal, prosecution, demotion, others

The Independent Investigative Panel on defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad and other units of the Nigerian Police Force (IIP-SARS), has just submitted its final report to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday.

The report was submitted to the Executive Secretary of the NHRC, Chief Tony Ojukwu, SAN, by the Chairman of the Panel, Hon. Justice Suleiman Galadima, JSC (rtd), CFR.

The submission of the report took place at a programme still on at the Rick View Royale, Wuse 2 Abuja.

The Independent Investigative Panel on defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad and other units of the Nigerian Police Force (IIP-SARS), has indicted 72 police officers for various offences and recommend they be punished by the NIgerian government.

While 28 officers were recommended for prosecution, 25 were to be dismissed, 15 are for other forms of punishment while 4 are to be demoted.

This was contained in the Panel’s final report submitted Tuesday, to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
