Eid-el-Kabir: Our reforms have yielded improved security, greater opportunities— Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has asserted that Nigeria’s difficult phase of economic reforms is over, saying the sacrifices made by citizens over the last three years have begun to yield positive results for the economy and national security.
In his Eid-el-Kabir message to the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world, the President said his administration’s reforms have stabilized the economy and positioned the country as a preferred investment destination capable of driving job creation and economic growth.
Tinubu linked the spirit of sacrifice associated with Eid-el-Kabir to the economic hardship experienced by Nigerians since the introduction of his administration’s reform policies.
“Just as sacrifice brings reward, I am happy that the sacrifices and efforts we have made over the past three years have yielded a more stable economy, making our country a preferred investment destination that will drive job creation and economic growth.”
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” he said.
The President further expressed optimism that the reforms would continue to produce improved security and broader economic opportunities for Nigerians.
“By the Grace of God, the reforms we have diligently pursued will continue to yield improved security and greater opportunities for all,” Tinubu stated.
On insecurity, the President acknowledged that terrorists and bandits are still carrying out attacks in some parts of the country despite recent gains recorded by security agencies.
He referenced the recent joint Nigeria-United States operation that led to the elimination of senior ISIS leader Abu-Bilal al-Manuki in the Lake Chad Basin.
“I am aware that, despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence agencies, including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities.”
“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.
Tinubu also called on the Muslim faithful and other Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for peace, national unity, and the country’s leadership.
“To our Muslim faithful, I urge you to use this sacred occasion to pray for our country, for peace in our communities, and for wisdom for those in leadership,” the President appealed.
“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law.”
Speaking on the significance of the festival, Tinubu said Eid-el-Kabir symbolizes faith, obedience, sacrifice, and compassion virtues, he urged Nigerians to embrace irrespective of their religious affiliations.
“Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the enduring virtues exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim: faith, obedience, and the willingness to sacrifice for a higher purpose.”
“This sacred festival calls on all Muslims, and indeed all Nigerians and the whole of humanity, to embrace sacrifice, selflessness, unity, and compassion,” he said.
The President added that his administration remains committed to investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development as part of ongoing efforts to fulfill the country’s potential.
