DSS operatives storm Former AGF, Malami’s Abuja residence

Operatives of the Department of State Services stormed a residence belonging to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in Abuja on Monday, reportedly forcing those present to vacate the premises.
Sources indicated that the dramatic incident unfolded shortly after former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar concluded a visit to the Maitama property.
The former Vice President reportedly spent approximately an hour at the residence before departing. An aide to Atiku confirmed the visit took place, while another witness disclosed that DSS officers had already surrounded the house during the high-profile meeting but strategically waited to move in only after Atiku had left the area.
This situation unfolds amid growing pressure on opposition figures like Malami to align with the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Critics have leveled accusations against President Bola Tinubu, alleging attempts to weaken his political opponents ahead of the next election cycle, although the president has vehemently denied these claims.
Malami has been facing trial for alleged corruption in recent weeks, a legal battle that many observers suspect may be politically motivated.
While Atiku shared photographs from his visit to Malami earlier in the day, he has refrained from commenting on the subsequent raid. The Department of State Services has not yet issued any official statement regarding the alleged invasion of the property.
