
Dassault Aviation to establish MRO facility at Ogun’s Gateway Airport
Dassault Aviation has revealed its plans to set up a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport in Ilishan Remo, Ogun State.
This initiative demonstrates the company’s dedication to improving aviation services and infrastructure in Nigeria.
The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by two senior executives from Dassault Aviation, Florent Venturini, the Sales Director, and Isabelle Villet, the Sales Manager, to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The meeting centred around the strategic plans for the MRO facility, which is intended to strengthen the airport’s operational capacity and cater to the broader West African market.
Governor Abiodun underscored the importance of the MRO plan, describing it as a milestone development that highlights the growing appeal of Gateway Airport and the surrounding Aerotropolis.
He emphasised that the establishment of the MRO facility would not only improve aviation operations but also solidify Ogun State’s position as a leading destination for global investment.
The governor also pointed out the conducive business climate promoted by his administration, which is committed to fostering an environment that supports innovative investors.
He noted that Ogun State has become a highly sought-after location for businesses, both within Nigeria and globally, thanks to the state’s business-friendly policies and the strategic backing of his administration for the state’s economic development.
In addition to the immediate benefits of the MRO facility, the governor expressed confidence in its long-term economic impact on the region.
He stated that the development is expected to create job opportunities, boost local businesses, and improve the overall infrastructure of Ogun State, positioning it as a crucial hub for aviation and related industries in West Africa.
